Short bio
Since 1998, B-CIDE has been steadily gaining notoriety worldwide all independently without the help of a major record label. To date, B-CIDE has put out over 10 releases. Beginning with PE and continuing onward, B-CIDE has stepped his game up even further and shows that he is a force to be reckoned with.
In 2012 he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and that completely changed the path of his career.” I was just kind of running on autopilot working on albums, songs, I just needed something to get my mind off things. I wasn’t really doing things with the love anymore, I was just doing things to get things done”
now it’s 2024 and things have changed. The new album Lienda came out on October 18th 2024 and it’s making me work super hard and it feels as though I’m going back in time, I feel like I’m young and ready to do this correctly again. The MS is not getting better but my mindset is. During my off time I picked up a lot of graphic design elements and I started making clothes, now I am finally starting to sell designs online through my other website, bcideclothing.com
Long Bio
Since 1998, B-CIDE has dedicated his life to crafting impactful hip-hop music, drawing from his experiences growing up in Utica, New York, and his Italian heritage. His unique perspective and style set him apart from mainstream New York City hip-hop, and he prides himself on not being confined to a specific genre or formula. “I’m not from the [New York] city, so my delivery is a lot different,” he explains.
B-CIDE’s journey began with the release of his debut solo album, Welcome to Utica: Upstate Madness (2003). With no budget or major backing, he promoted his music grassroots-style, performing at local clubs and building a loyal fan base. This momentum laid the groundwork for his sophomore project, The Self-Proclaimed King (2007), which further solidified his presence in the independent hip-hop scene.
In 2007, B-CIDE signed with DJ King Assassin under Liferdef/Universal, but when the label’s plans shifted, he returned to independence. Undeterred, he took his career to the next level with Free Agent (2008), distributed nationally through Best Buy and internationally via Super D Phantom Distribution. To support the album, he hit the road with former Psychopathic Records group Project Born, embarking on national tours from Connecticut to California.
In 2011, B-CIDE’s career and life took a sudden turn when he suffered a pulmonary embolism. The near-death experience became a defining moment, sparking a renewed passion for music. His fourth album, Pulmonary Embolism (2011), reflects this transformative period. It delves deep into his personal life, struggles, and recovery while addressing social issues like economic hardship and the state of modern rap. Tracks like “Who I Am” and “Happy to Be Alive” highlight his resilience, while songs like “Party All Night” and “Hot Like Fire” showcase his upbeat, fun-loving side. The album gained critical recognition, including features in Murder Dog Magazine and praise from industry veteran Violet Brown.
The following year, B-CIDE faced another challenge: a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS). The condition changed his creative process and slowed his output. “I wasn’t really doing things with love anymore,” he reflects. “I just needed something to get my mind off things.” Despite these struggles, he remained determined, channeling his energy into new projects and exploring graphic design during his downtime.
Now in 2024, B-CIDE is revitalized. His latest album, Lienda (released October 18, 2024), marks a triumphant return, driven by a youthful energy and a renewed dedication to his craft. “The MS is not getting better, but my mindset is,” he shares. Alongside his music, B-CIDE has expanded into fashion, launching a clothing line through his website, bcideclothing.com, where he sells his own designs.
With over 25 years in the game, B-CIDE’s legacy continues to evolve, blending his passion for hip-hop with his resilience and creativity. His journey exemplifies the power of perseverance, and he remains a force to be reckoned with in the underground music and design worlds.
