B-Cide shows Green Day love

It should come as no surprise that B-Cide has love for the multi-platinum rock band, Green Day. As time has gone by, B-Cide has gotten more brazen with the Green Day references he uses in his songs. It all started on the album, FREE AGENT on the track, 2008 BC when B-Cide made a list of sorts of the artists who inspired him. Now turn the clock to 2011 and the projects that have come out. On The Big East Finest Mixtape Volume 2 the track Breakin Down The Walls B-Cide say’s

“They don’t know about it, what they know about real? What they know about the fans when you signing a deal? They made it prefabricated now everyone’s hated, what you know about the A’s I get when I’m bein graded? It’s all Brainstew and Jaded so if you feel what I’m sayin just put your middle fingers up like you don’t give a fuck, this the 21st century and life’s fucked up”

Now onto the track E.S.D. In true Green Day form he shouts on the hook EAT SHIT, DIE! I don’t care what you fuckers sayin about me it’s all lies. So don’t try, why? Cuz I got the status to be the baddest on the planet it’s all mine”

on the 3rd verse B-Cide clearly comes into the verse and says

“I was a Basketcase, before I said Good Riddance, but now I’m tryin to find Billie Joe somebody gimmie his digits.”

Is there more to come in the ever changing repertuar of B-Cide? We know B-Cide does what he wants when it comes to music and this is no different. We actually had a chance to get B-Cide’s thoughts on this, here’s what he had to say.

“I think making different references to thing’s I like is the biggest form of flattery, I’ve been listening to Green Day longer than any musician in my whole CD collection and it was bound to come out in my music that I’ve been a fan. To me though this underground style of rap reminds me a lot of how Green Day got started and how their fan base was before they got signed to a major label. I use that punk rock mentality in everything I do musically, even promotion. I’ve even got some Green Day fans as fans of mine, because music is music, I can transcend genre’s, it’s not about what type of music you listen to anymore, if someone feels what you do, they are going to listen to it. I plan on doing music till my heart stops and whatever a beat tells me to do, I do it and that’s my style. If you don’t like it, FUCK YOU!”
